Chengwei is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (LOUD) and conducts collaborative research at NYU Shanghai. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Fudan University, where his research focused on assessing urban vulnerability in coastal areas under the impacts of climate change and exploring adaptation strategies for sea-level rise. His research interests center on the nexus between urban morphology and carbon emissions across multiple spatial and temporal scales, focusing on the spatial carbon lock-in effects in urban complex systems.
