Gold mines, copper mines, coal mines... various minerals on Earth can all be precisely named. Data, which has been defined as the fifth major production factor following land, labor, capital, and technology, is often compared to new types of 'minerals.' However, no institution can simply state what type of 'data minerals' they possess. On October 25th, the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science(LOUD) released its latest research findings, titled 'From the 'Periodic Table of Data Elements' to 'Data Reactions'—Theoretical Innovation Aids Exploration in the Assetization of Data as a Factor of Production.'

Attendees included Jincheng Wu, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Deputy Secretary of the Pudong New Area Party Committee and District Chief, Dajin Luo, Director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Jun Shao, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Data Administration and Director of the Shanghai Big Data Center,Zhenrong Sun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Shanghai Academy of Sciences,Xiongwen Lu, Dean of the School of Management, Fudan University, and leaders from New York University Shanghai including Shijun Tong, President, Zhou'an Wei, Provost,Shuzhe Ding, Vice President,Yuxin Chen, Director of the Business Division,Wei Guo, Executive Director of the Human Resources Department, and  Anqi Qian, Associate Provost for Research. In order to further advance the goal of Beautiful China and promote low-carbon and green transformation in cities, the "Beautiful China · 2024 Low-carbon and Green City Development Forum" and the 3rd Annual Conference (Special Event) of Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (LOUD) were held in Lingang New Area, Shanghai, on October 23rd. The forum was jointly organized by LOUD, in partnership with Shanghai Lingang Economic Development (Group) Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Prosperity Alliance Shanghai Center, Shanghai Climate Week and the Urban Ecological Chain Committee. It was hosted by Tongmu Construction Group and Shanghai Technology Exchange.

On October 14th, the NYU Shanghai - Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (hereinafter referred to as "NYU Shanghai Urban Lab") held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation agreement with Lingang Group and Hengdian Group Holding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hengdian Group") at Lingang Bund Center. Weng Kaining, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Lingang Group, Li Ying, Founding Co-Director of NYU Shanghai Urban Lab, and Xu Tianfu, Vice President of Hengdian Group, attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing.
