On May 16, 2024, the acceptance meeting for the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (LOUD) was held at NYU Shanghai. LOUD successfully passed the acceptance inspection conducted by the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. Leaders and experts attending the meeting included Professor Yu Yifan, Director of the Lifelong Friendly Community Research Center at Tongji University; Professor Zeng Gang, Dean of the Institute of Urban Development at East China Normal University; Professor Wu Jiannan, Executive Deputy Dean of the China Urban Governance Research Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Professor Yu Zhaowu, Researcher at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Fudan University; Professor Xie Weiqun, Deputy Director of the Research Management Department at Shanghai University; Vice President Ding Shuzhe of NYU Shanghai; Co-director of LOUD, ChengHe Guan; and Ying Li, among others.

On April 29, 2024, Mr. Wang Shi visited the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (LOUD) for a tour and exchange. The meeting was attended by Chen Yuxin, Dean of Business at NYU Shanghai; ChengHe Guan, Founding Co-director of LOUD; Liu Yanjun, Executive Deputy Director; Zhang Guohua, Executive Director of the Institute for Cities and Real Estate in Emerging Markets; Hong Hai, Producer of Times Record; Zhang Jing, Managing Director of Yinshan Group; Ning Yuanjun, Assistant President of Shimao Group; Gu Shaobo of Shimao Group; and Chen Long, General Manager of Fujian Zuo Hai Technology Co., Ltd.

On the occasion of the 55th World Earth Day, the "Beautiful China" Forum, one of the two main forums of Shanghai Climate Week 2024, was jointly organized by the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science and the Shanghai Climate Week Executive Committee. It was co-hosted by the Shanghai Technology Exchange, Tongmu Group, and ASOCON Asia. The forum was officially opened on April 22, 2024, at the Yangpu Barvalley Lang Lang Music Hotel in Shanghai. The event, centered around the theme "Beautiful China," focused on "A Green Future, Harmonious Coexistence." It brought together academic experts, representatives from government, business, and social organizations, as well as media guests from both domestic and international arenas. On the afternoon of April 22, over 200 guests attended in person, while more than 200,000 people participated online to witness the successful launch of the forum.
