ECNU–NYU Shanghai Joint Master’s Program Application Opens

Applications for the East China Normal University (ECNU) – NYU Shanghai Joint Master’s Program are now open!

Through this program, the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science (LOUD ) collaborates with the School of Ecological and Environmental Sciences at ECNU to recruit master’s and doctoral students.

Applications for the N.E.T. Joint Master’s Program are officially open!

01 Program Introduction

The ECNU–NYU Shanghai Joint Master’s Program aims to strengthen collaborative research between the two universities. Under the program, NYU Shanghai faculty serve as ECNU advisors to admit master’s students. Participants will benefit from the abundant educational and research resources at both ECNU and NYU Shanghai.

Students enrolled in the program must complete all required coursework and credits within the prescribed period of study, pass assessments and the master’s thesis defense, and obtain approval from ECNU’s Academic Degree Evaluation Committee. Qualified students will be awarded a Master’s degree from ECNU along with the official graduation certificate for postgraduate study.

02 Admissions Disciplines

This year, the program will admit students in selected disciplines through the recommendation and exemption process. Applications are welcome from students who have obtained recommendation eligibility from their home institutions.

The system opened on August 30, 2025. Eligible candidates may complete pre-registration through the system and must select “ECNU–NYU Shanghai Joint Training Program” under “Research Direction.”

Deadlines for pre-registration are set independently by each school or department based on the application situation. Applicants are advised to register and log in as soon as possible to check the closing dates and avoid missing the deadline.
