The Urban Key Laboratory of Capital University of Economics and Business Visits LOUD

On June 13 th,Beijing Key Laboratory of Megaregions Sustainable Development Simulation of Capital University of Economics and Business ( hereinafter referred to as " The Urban Key Laboratory of Capital University of Economics and Business " ) came to Shanghai New York University Shanghai Key Laboratory of Urban Design and Urban Science ( hereinafter referred to as " LOUD " ) for communication. The purpose of this exchange is to strengthen scientific research cooperation and academic exchanges between the two sides and jointly promote cooperation in urban research. Among them, WU Kang, director of  The Urban Key Laboratory of Capital University of Economics and Business,Qiliang Mao, deputy director, Lu Hui, director of the office, Jiang Chao, lecturer, ChengHe Guan, Ying Li, co-director of LOUD, Yanjun Liu, deputy director, Kangning Huang, Jiayong Liang, Zhibin Chen and so on. The meeting was chaired by Professor Kangning Huang.

Professor Kangning Huang warmly welcomed the arrival of The Urban Key Laboratory of Capital University of Economics and Business. He pointed out that The Urban Key Laboratory of Capital University of Economics and Business has accumulated rich experience in studying the impact of the city on the environment, which is very worthy of LOUD's learning from. He hopes that the two sides can carry out more cooperation in the future to jointly promote research and development in related fields. Professor ChengHe Guan and Professor Ying Li introduced the basic situation of the laboratory in terms of team composition, scientific research cooperation, research direction, and talent training. 
 
Professor WU Kang, director of The Urban Key Laboratory of Capital University of Economics and Business, introduced the basic situation of the laboratory. The key laboratory is jointly built by the Capital University of Economics and Business and Beijing Tsinghua Tongheng Planning and Design Institute. It is a key laboratory in Beijing identified by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission in January 2017. The laboratory serves the " four centers " function construction of the capital Beijing and the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. It is committed to exploring the theory and practice of sustainable development of urban system and urban agglomeration system. It is a key laboratory with scientific simulation and decision support characteristics. The laboratory takes regional and urban science as the core, and advocates multidisciplinary cross-coordination research to solve the problem of urban and regional complex giant systems.

In the exchange, the two sides discussed in depth the status quo and future development goals of their respective development, focusing on climate change, dual carbon goals, sustainable development and other content and possible future cooperation. At the meeting, the two sides agreed that in the future, The Urban Key Laboratory of Capital University of Economics and the LOUD can carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in three aspects : digital city, low-carbon city and blue-green city, and jointly promote the research and practice of urban science and sustainable development.
